Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my blog!

I love photography so this blog will showcase my pictures. You will see (hopefully) some nice pictures, some bad pictures and some experimental pictures (that would be the pictures I take when I dare push the settings button on my camera beyond Auto).

Old sailing ships

This sculpture stands in the harbor on the side where the old sailing ships used to dock when visiting. In the 19th century men used to pull the sailing ships along the dock to move them within the harbor. The whatever-it's-called-in-English-pulling-contraption is the original from 1864, the men made in wood was added in 1994 to illustrate how it was used. I took the picture at sunset standing on the opposite side of the harbor.

  1. Gees it'd get a bit crowded out there if a few tourists wandered down for a closer look. And you mention that the "statues" are made of wood? Strange.

  2. The thing-a-majig is made of bronze I think. I guess it was too expensive to make the workers in bronze as well. What you see on the picture is only the piece of the dock where this thingie is located. There's plenty of room for tourists on both sides.
