Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my blog!

I love photography so this blog will showcase my pictures. You will see (hopefully) some nice pictures, some bad pictures and some experimental pictures (that would be the pictures I take when I dare push the settings button on my camera beyond Auto).

Looking for spring

Last week the morning paper said that spring has come to my part of Sweden. This past Sunday I decided to go look for it. And sure enough, I found several signs of spring. However, I also found frozen ponds and ducks asking me for something to eat. Perhaps spring needs a few more weeks to get its act together?

A rose for the new princess

A new little princess was born today. The Swedish Crown Princess and her husband became parents to their first child early this morning. To celebrate this event, I'm posting a winter rose.

Bird conference

The crows are having a conference on the roof of the house opposite mine. There were more of them but half left when I stuck my camera out the window. Perhaps they didn't want to have their picture taken? Must be some shady business they're discussing.

First snow

I took these pictures of the first snow three weeks ago. The snow is all gone now and I hope winter this year was short and sweet. I'm looking forward to spring now. My camera is looking forward to spring, it's not gettting the exercise it wants. I wonder why.

Twelve disciples

These guys are mounted on each side of the door to one of the churches in the city. A very old church I might add. It's called St. Marys Church, one of my nephews was baptized there and one of my colleagues will get married there in May (Hi Carro). It's a beautiful church. Anyway, back to the stonefaced fellows. There's six on each side and my guess is they're portraying Jesus twelve disciples. If anybody has a different theory, I'd love to know!

A bird blooper

Oh, these birds really know how to destroy my pictures, don't they? These three guys were sitting on the ice fighting over a piece of food. And just when I clicked, one of them took off. I'm telling you, I'm not taking responsibility for this blooper piccie. Not my fault at all.

Old anchors

A port city must have anchors somewhere and I found a couple mounted at the utmost end of the pier. Actually there's four of them, huge things. I have no idea which ship they belonged to and how old they are but they look really nice. And the birds use them to sit on.

Just ducky

This little guy kept quacking at me while I took pictures of him. I don't speak duck so I'm not sure what he tried to say. Finally he just eyeballed me with a smile on his face. Doesn't he look like he's smiling?

A Christmas tree in February

A Christmas tree in February doesn't have any snow or decorations. So I guess for the moment it's just a plain tree. I like the color and how you can see every needle on the branches.

Feeling nostalgic

Looking back to last summer when you could sit down at the dock and watch the ferries in the sun. Not having to wear two pair of mittens and a jacket that makes you look like the Michelin-man.

A cold day in Hel-singborg

It was quite cold here this past weekend. Sunday was apparently the coldest day in Sweden this winter. Not that I noticed, I stayed inside and watched the World Championship final game in bandy, Sweden won against Russia. Bandy is played on ice with clubs with a rounded blade and a ball for those who doesn't know.

The picture was taken in the small boats harbour here in Helsingborg.

A grand birds view

This is one bird with a grand view of the city. It's so high up I can only guess that it's a dove.

It's cold as hell today and it will be even colder tomorrow, I wonder if my camera will freeze to death if I take it for a spin? Stay tuned and you'll probably find out. I'm sure I'll chicken out before my camera does.

I need some color

It's very grey outside so I'm posting some color today. I was standing under a tree taking this picture getting a full view of fall colors. Now I feel much better!

In the fog again

This was a spur of the moment picture. It was a slight fog outside and I was picture hunting. When passing the cemetary, I threw a glance at it and saw this and had to take a picture. Me being a bit on the short side actually helped in composing it. My lack of length didn't allow me to fit more of the chapel in the picture so for once being short played to my advantage. With the greenery in focus and the cross slightly blurry in the fog, I like this piccie a lot.
